Projects > Abstract Landscape Series

For this body of work colors, textures, lines, shapes, and objects discovered in the landscape directly influenced my imagery. I incorporated these found objects from my acreage, Villekulla Farm, in Stanton County, NE.

These oftentimes rusted metal items such as nails and wire are remnants of previous occupants’ efforts in combating entropy. Trying to keep it all together! How recognizable. The wooden parts from a place’s past especially resonate with me, the pieces of barns and gates that embody the modern human need to enclose, keep things in and out, and protect our precious life.
